Taylored Expressions June Studio Challenge

Hello!  It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum:)  Each month we have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more!

The question for June is:
What's on your summer reading list? Are you a big reader or not? If you are, what books have you read lately that you would recommend? Do you have a favorite author or genre? How about something for sitting out by the pool, or the beach, or even just the backyard...some nice light summer reading?
Do you use fancy bookmarks or do you dog-ear your pages? Or, do you use an e-reader? Everyone can use bookmarks and they make great favors and gifts. Let's see a little inspiration!

Well, unfortunately I'm not a very big reader, but I did get into the Hunger Games series (my favorite books of all time!) and the Twilight series. Oh, and I also read the Fifty Shades of Grey series (flushing a little bit:)

My sister is a VERY big reader!  She gives me some second hand books every Christmas that she thinks I will enjoy, and I almost always do enjoy them!  I just finished a book by Jennifer Weiner called Goodnight Nobody, which was really good, and I'm about to start a book called Good in Bed by the same author.

I don't have an e-reader, so I usually use my handmade bookmarks which I love to make!  Today I have a set of 3 bookmarks to share with you using a Taylored Expressions Luggage Tags Die as well as the Posh Posies Stamp Set and the Posh Vases Dies:

This color combo looks much better in person!  I cut out the luggage tags, then stamped the images onto white cs which I layered behind the tags.  I added vases cut out of Simple Stories Vintage Bliss dp, tied some twine around them and attached the Designer Mini Tags.  I added some coordinating ribbon to the tops of the tags and called them complete!  I think they make the perfect bookmarks and I have 3 friends in mind that I can give them to:)

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen Blogs to see what they came up with today!  I can't wait to see which sets and dies they used:)

Congratulations On Your Graduation!

Hello!  One of my best friends has a daughter who graduated high school this year, and I wanted to share the card I made her for graduation:)  I used this adorable gal from Taylored Expressions named Moka Skylar and colored her up with Copics to look like Jess.  I cut her out and layered her on top of a Tag Stacklets 1 Die.  I also used a Banner Stacklets 1 Die below that.  The border was cut with the Open Scallop Border Die and I added hearts from the Cupid's Arrows Die Set.  Here's a close up of Skylar:

The dp and ribbon are from the Patriotic Project Pantry Kit.  These colors were perfect for Jessica's school colors:)  Here's a look at the inside:

I used the fabulous Grad Cap Die, as well as those cool Poster Graphic #'s Dies.  The sentiment comes from the Moka Jerome Stamp Set.

Well we had a very busy weekend!  Two birthday parties, out of town visitors, and a gymnastics banquet!  Avery has her name on a special banner for being a state champ this past year:

Aren't they adorable?  They had a BLAST at the banquet~so fun!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday!

Taylored Expressions June Spotlights: Ride the Wave

Please scroll down for the Your Next Stamp  Fun Friday Challenge!

Hello!  So was I right about the Taylored Expressions release or what?  Aren't the new products FABULOUS!!!  Today I have a very CAS card to share with you.  Actually I have one more using this set that I'm just putting the finishing touches on and will upload shortly.  I don't want to put Ride the Wave down~or the Ride the Wave Border Die for that matter!  The DT has been so inspirational, and I have a million ideas running through my head:)

For this card, I colored a sunset sky using my Copics, then simply stamped the images from Ride the Wave over the top.  I added some twine, a button, distressed the edges, and called it complete!  Super easy!

Ok, here's one more CAS card using this awesome set along with some Echo Park Paper Co. A Perfect Summer dp:

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen Blogs for even more inspiration today, and I hope you have a wonderful time playing with your new goodies:)  Remember, they can all be found in the Fresh out of the Oven Department!  Have a fab Friday!

Taylored Expressions June Release Day: Graphic Greetings Get Well + Moka Sunshine

Hello again!  Well, today is the day!  The Taylored Expressions June release is available NOW in the Fresh out of the Oven Department~WooHoo!!!  I hope you love all of the new products as much as I do:)

Today I'm sharing a project I made with the new Graphic Greetings Get Well stamp and this cutie called Moka Sunshine.  I decided to paper piece her a little bit because who doesn't love polka dot pj bottoms?  I know I do!  The dp I used is Simple Stories Vintage Bliss (no surprise there:) and I used the gorgeous Lace Chain Border Die as well.

For my box, I used a Silhouette file called 3D Crate Box.  I stamped the Graphic Greetings Get Well once again and cut out the "get well soon" for my sentiment.  I added the beautiful butterfly that I cut with one of the Flutter-bys Dies.  I'm going to send this sweet card to my mom because today is her last chemo treatment!  She had a small cancerous tumor in the area where her ovaries used to be, and they were able to remove it, but they wanted her to have 6 rounds of chemo.  She will certainly be glad to have that behind her!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs for more inspirational projects today and have fun shopping!

Hello!  I'm back with more sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions!  All of the fabulous new stamps and dies will be available tomorrow in the Fresh out of the Oven Department!

Today I used this darling previously released set called Delightful Day.  It was available to Key Ingredient subscribers only, but will be available to everybody tomorrow!

Taylor is also releasing some fun Delightful Day Conversation Bubbles Dies to coordinate with this set!  Did you notice my sun?  Those are some new dies called Pinking Circles Stacklets~love!  I also used the Open Scallop Border Die and my dp is Simple Stories Vintage Bliss which I can't seem to put down:)

Next up I have a card using the gorgeous new Teacup Bouquet:

I decided to paper piece the teacup and saucer and added a little shading with my Copics.  Since I had the leaves and flowers cut out, I decided to pop them up with foam squares.  The sentiment was stamped onto the Band-It Die.  I just love how it looks!

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen Blogs for more sneak peeks today and I'll be back with another project tomorrow for Release Day (it's probably my favorite so I hope you come back:)

Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peek: Ride the Wave Border and Stars & Stripes!

Hello!  It's release week at Taylored Expressions, which means we have some fabulous new goodies to share with you over the next few days!  I LOVE this month's release and I know you will too!

My first card uses several new products.  For the background, I used the amazing new Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate as well as the new Ride the Wave Border Die~don't you LOVE the shapes of these new dies?! I also used a new stamp set called Ride the Wave along with the coordinating Surfboard Die.  Ride the Wave has some awesome, grungy type images that are so perfect for making cool guy cards:)  I am going to get a lot of use out of this set!  Here's a close up:

Next up is a new set called Stars & Stripes with Coordinating USA Die-so awesome!

To stamp the image, I taped off the star portion and inked up the stripes with red ink.  I then removed the tape and inked up the stars with blue ink.  It's not perfect, but I love the distressed look of the stamp, and felt like it didn't need to be perfect:)

The die that comes with the set made it so easy to cut out!  The paper and ribbon come from the Patriotic Project Pantry Kit pictured below:

So do you like what you've seen so far?  I'll be back tomorrow with more peeks, but in the meantime, make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to see more amazing projects!

Hello!  Taylor has a new item in the Taylored Expressions Store today called the Kid's Summer Fun Pack!  This kit comes with so many crafty goodies to help kids fill up those boring summer hours:)  My daughter made a couple of cards for a birthday party this past Saturday and my son sat in on the action too!  They had a blast!  Here's a picture of what is included in the Kid's Summer Fun Pack:

Here's one of the cards that my daughter, Avery made.  She used paper, cardstock, buttons, bling, and washi tape from the kit and stamped the happy birthday using the Milestone Markers stamp set.

Next up is Carson's card:)  He chose this fun guy from the Party Monsters stamp set to color up and then he wanted the biggest buttons he could find to glue in the corners.  So cute and he was so proud of his card!  They couldn't wait to show daddy when he got home:)

Here are my cutie pies holding up their projects:

Taylored Expressions May Studio Challenge

Hello!  It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge. This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions DT to share what makes our stamping studios hum. Each month we have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The question for May is:
What is your favorite time of the year? Some of us love the sunshine and heat of summer, while some of us long for the crisp cool air of fall. Do spring flowers make your heart sing or is it snow and the smell of pine needles that makes you jolly?

Tell us about your favorite month or season and also tell us about your favorite time of year to stamp.

You can probably tell from my snippet that I love FALL!  I love the earthy colors of fall, and if I could own every pumpkin image on the stamping market I probably would:)  Growing up, I used to hate fall because I lived in Wyoming, and fall meant that the ground would be frozen for the next 9 months LOL!  Now that we live in Florida, I look forward to the somewhat cooler temperatures!  I also just love that fall is the start of the holidays.  Such a fun season!

For my project today, I created 3 calendar pages using the TE 2013 6x6 Dated Calendar Download which you can find HERE.  Taylor also has the 2014 Download available which is perfect for creating gifts!

For my September page I used the fun Made in the Shade Stamp Set along with dies from the Sunny Days Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies.  I stamped the image twice and cut the pumpkins out so I could pop them up for some dimension.

For my October page I used another one of the Made in the Shade images and added a haunted house from the Oh What a Holiday Set.

For my November page I used the Made in the Shade set once again, and added a cloud from the Sunny Days Stamp Set with Coordinating Dies.  Once again, I stamped the image twice, and cut out the front house so I could pop it up for dimension.

I'm also REALLY looking forward to fall this year because we will be all moved in to our new home~YAY!  First, I've just got to survive the summer with bored kiddos in a small house-yikes.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to see more fun calendar projects!  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day:)
